Family Day Weekend!

Posted by Derek Mann on 2019/02/15

A fun filled weekend in the CKDO Events Cruiser is all set! I’ll also be out on Monday for Family Day to check out even more fun!

I’ll be starting the weekend off in Oshawa at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Library. In preparation for Earth Day, you can come out every Saturday until March 23rd to collaborate and join in with other youth on creating a mural to reflect the environment and natural surroundings.

I’ll be ending my day at the Pickering Buttertart Festival at the Pickering Recreation Complex Flaky crust, gooey inside...what more could you ask for! It’s free to check out and fun for all ages from 9:00AM-4:00PM!

On Sunday I’ll be heading over to Valleyview Park in Pickering! They have the synthetic skating rink set up there for the winter season! Come out for an afternoon of skating with the family just in time for Family Day!

Afterwards, you can find me at the Town Brewery in Whitby! A great Anit-bullying fundraiser is happening between 12:00PM-6:00PM called Brews Not Bruised! Check out the silent auction, raffles and more!

I’ll be back out on Monday as well for some Family Day fun! Find me on Monday afternoon at the McLean Community Centre in Ajax! Lots of fun to check out with the family between 11:00AM-4:00PM including free swimming, zumba, horse & carriage rides, plus so much more!

I’ll be heading to the Whitby Recreation Complex later on in the afternoon to check out more Family Day activities! Some free family fitness, crafts and ice carvings. It’s all happening between 12:00PM-4:00PM

You can always follow along with all the fun on Twitter: @CKDOKyle

Remember, if there’s ever an event you think I should know about, send me an email at: kyle@therock.fm

Hope to see you out there this weekend!

-Kyle :)
