Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

Posted by Derek Mann on 2018/10/05

It’s Thanksgiving weekend! If you’re not too stuffed from a delicious turkey dinner I’ve got some awesome events for you to check out!

On Saturday I’ll be heading to Canadian Tire in Bowmanville to start things off! The Muscular Dystrophy Boot Drive is happening there from 10:00AM-3:00PM. You’ll see firefighters in various spots around the parking lot holding a fire boot. Our goal is to fill them up with as much money as we can, all in support of Muscular Dystrophy!

I’ll be heading to the Heydenshore Pavilion in Whitby for the remainder of the day for the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides! The walk relies on the generous support of volunteers, donors, and partners to meet its goal of giving Canadians a new leash on life. Come out with your furry friend! Registration begins at 10:00AM and the walk starts at 11:00AM.

On Sunday, I will be heading over to the Forsythe Family Farms in Uxbridge for their Harvestfest! It’s finally pumpkin picking season! Come out and pick your pumpkin. You can also check out the scavenger hunts, wagon rides, and so much more!

I’ll be finishing off Sunday at the Oshawa Museum for Sunday Funday! Using artefacts from the Museum’s education collection choose what you would use to tell the future about the Victorian era. Visitors will get to touch and interact with artefacts over 100 years old!

If you see me out this weekend, come and visit the Events Cruiser to pick up your meat snack from Great Canadian Meat!

Remember if there’s ever an event you think I should know about, send me an email at: kyle@therock.fm

Hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving Weekend and eat as much turkey and pumpkin pie as your heart desires!

-Kyle :)
