The British Invasion of the mid-1960s happened when music acts from the United Kingdom became popular in North America.  Pop and rock groups such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark Five and others were at the forefront of the invasion.  Here is the Beatles' 1964 performance of 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' on the Ed Sullivan Show.

The Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971. They’ve had five number one singles and six number one albums, six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards.

They are one of the world's best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records including 100 million sold in U.S alone. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and were ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone's 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions)’ features 16 studio recordings of alternate takes, long cuts and jam versions of ‘Wildflowers’ songs as Tom Petty, his band members and co-producer Rick Rubin worked to finalize the album in 1994. The release offers fans further deep access into the writing and recording of Wildflowers, as well as realizing the full vision of the project as Tom had always intended.  Warner Records and the Tom Petty estate have also shared a new video for “You Saw Me Comin'”—a previously unreleased song recorded in 1992.

Scottish pop rock band Pilot released the song "Magic" in 1974 and was the first hit single for the band.

It charted most successfully in Canada, where it topped the RPM national singles chart on July 19, 1975. It climbed as far as number 11 on the UK Singles Chart and reached number five during the summer of 1975 in the US on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fleetwood Mac’s "Go Your Own Way" (from their eleventh studio album Rumours) was released as the album's first single in December 1976. Written and sung by Lindsey Buckingham, it became the band's first top-ten hit in the United States.

"Go Your Own Way" was ranked number 120 by Rolling Stone magazine on their list of 500 greatest rock songs of all time.
