"Stayin' Alive" was released in 1977 as the second single from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and quickly became a true Disco classic. In 2004, it ranked No. 9 on The American Film Institute's ‘100 Years...100 Songs’ survey of top tunes in American cinema.
"Stayin' Alive" hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of 4 February 1978, remaining there for four consecutive weeks. In the United States, it would become the second of six consecutive number-one singles for The Bee Gees, tying the record with the Beatles for most consecutive number ones in the United States at the time.
