"Totally original... Funky as all hell... this ain’t any Kenny G oatmeal for folks with no teeth."
    - Mike Greenblatt, Classicalite (New York, USA)
    ----
Under the leadership of JUNO-nominated and 10x Global Music Award–winning jazz pianist NICK MACLEAN, SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS launches into a daring new chapter: a suite of electrifying works inspired by the science fiction grandmaster ISAAC ASIMOV and his legendary FOUNDATION saga. Often described as “Canada’s answer to Snarky Puppy”, the band goes interstellar using their fearless sound, likened to a cross between electric-era Miles Davis and Rage Against the Machine, to map the rise and fall of galactic empires.

Front and center are the ALI BROS, the near-telepathic horn duo of BROWNMAN ALI (Guru, Jay-Z, Randy Brecker) on trumpet and MARCUS ALI (Matt Dusk, Jason Wilson, Mr Something Something) on saxophone. Like Asimov’s psychohistorians, they shape the future with every phrase, weaving complex probabilities into sonic reality. Joining them on this voyage are some of Toronto’s finest electric-jazz explorers: JAY YOO on guitar, MATT GRUEBNER on bass, and ADAM MANSFIELD on drums. With performances swinging from Seldon–like moments of quiet, calculated clarity to cataclysmic bursts of energy worthy of a crumbling empire... Snaggle’s new repertoire doesn’t just pay homage to ASIMOV, it channels the spirit of his storytelling: daring, complex, and endlessly imaginative.

DOC ROCK & the ASSASSINS, the special guest opener, has carved out a reputation as one of Durham Region’s hardest-hitting rock outfits. Blending the grit of classic rock with the energy of modern alternative, the band delivers a live show that is as raw and powerful as it is unforgettable. With deep roots in the local scene, Doc Rock & the Assassins have become a fixture in Ontario venues, sharing stages with a wide range of rock, metal, and alternative acts. Their sound channels the spirit of no-nonsense rock & roll while embracing the high-octane edge that defines Oshawa’s music community.

For fans of Jazz, Science Fiction, and the BOUNDLESS possibilities that emerge when the two intertwine... this is a show not to be missed!
